CAStudios: A Practice
CAStudios was invited to hold a small exhibition at Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts, Krakow, Poland in May 2018. This was held in conjunction with Charles leading a collaborative design studio at the Academy exploring landscape/urban futures for the City of Krakow.
Technics and Touch: Body-Matter-Machine. RMIT Design Hub 2016
Charles Anderson curated and participated in the design research exhibition Technics and Touch: Body-Matter-Machine. This exhibition was a performative research laboratory in which our collaborators (the RMIT Robotics Lab and Jondi Keane from Deakin University) sought to configure a series of dynamic, procedural conversations between people and robots. By doing so we aimed to explore real time feedback systems and further our understanding of distributed cognition. The curated exhibition which examined rule based or algorithmic procedures of form generation brought together local and international leaders in the field, including, Roland Snooks (RMIT), Jane Burry (Swinburne), Tim Schork (UTS), Kristof Crolla (Hong Kong) and Casey Reas (UCLA), all leading figures of generative rule based drawing and computational design.
