X-FIELD

X-Field is a collaborative group of practitioners who work across the disciplines of art, architecture, landscape architecture and urbanism. We have identified the gaps that conventional practice has marginalised as fertile grounds for intervention: places of becoming, transaction, negotiation and improvisation.

X-Field Exhibition

Since its opening in Melbourne in 2010, the exhibition has travelled to Seoul, Beijing and Taipei. In each city creative practitioners have joined the X-Field project, contributing works to the exhibition and extending its curatorial themes.

Having completed its tour of Asia the exhibition returns to Melbourne with new work and ideas connecting a diverse range of creative design practices.

This commitment to the design of places is progressively sharpened through engagement with the teaching and research of design at Universities across Australia and internationally, as well as through regular participation in design competitions, conferences and Public Fora.Stutterheim / Anderson is a Landscape Architecture practice grounded in two inter-dependent qualities: an awareness that our fundamental responsibility is to the Earth as the dominant force with which we negotiate as designers, and a fine-grained attentiveness to the temporal and spatial, physical and immaterial forces which constitute place. The results are robust and resilient projects tailor-made to specific places.
